Welcome to GSU Play Therapy Training Institute!

The Play Therapy Training Institute at Georgia State University strives to offer quality play therapy training through continuing education to professionals in the play therapy community. We also encourage networking, research and resources to those in this field. Our goal is to enrich and challenge each participant’s knowledge, skills and practice in the field of play therapy.

The Counseling and Psychological Services Department is pleased to announce Galina Tobin as the winner of the JoAnna White Play Therapy Scholarship, 2018.  The award is presented annually to a graduate student in good standing in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services who is dedicated to the study and clinical practice of play therapy. The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Dr. White served as Department Chair from 1999-2011 and is internationally recognized for her research and leadership in the field of play therapy.
She was recently quoted in a story about helping grieving children in the Albany Herald.
