The Counseling and Psychological Services Department is pleased to announce Vanessa R. Placeres as the winner of the JoAnna White Play Therapy Scholarship. The award is presented annually to a graduate student in good standing in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services who is dedicated to the study and clinical practice of play therapy. The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Dr. White served as Department Chair from 1999-2011 and is internationally recognized for her research and leadership in the field of play therapy. She was recently quoted in a story about helping grieving children in the Albany Herald.
